tiny get-away

C and I had a great little 24-hour get-away to Toronto. The original goal was to buy some furniture for the upstairs, but I’m under doctor’s orders to not drive for at least 4 weeks, so we were limited on space in our GTI for much of anything significant. C wants mid-century modern and/or Danish furniture, and although we found a lot we liked, nothing would fit in the car. So, we’ll be returning in a few weeks with a van. In the mean time, we settled for some shelving for the laundry room and lighting from IKEA to tie us over.

C is one of the lucky few to have already received his new iphone via Hong Kong 5 days ago and the camera is pretty amazing. A few shots from our trip:

beautiful paper lined up like bolts of fabric at the paper place

colorful smiles stuck to a building on Queen St West

the best brunch i’ve ever had in my life at mitzi’s cafe

we just happened to walk past bookhou (whose blog i read every day) and paused to scope out their beautiful space. i bought a tiny handmade dress for my niece.

C and i drooled over all the amazing chairs, wishing we had somewhere to put them all if we could buy them.

it’s raining here today: a perfect day to lounge around in bed and watch the world cup!
