studio update(s)

been slowly pulling together more of the studio and wanted to share some new things! i arrived home from my 2-week trip and whitwhit had painted my work table black. (love that girl for surprising me with that one!) before i left, she helped me start hanging up some things on the wall: i’ve officially switched from orange accents to red, black and neutrals. i feel much more at home with them. (no offense orange.) here are a few pics from the altered far side of the room:

the goal is that the wall above the table ends up full of more of what’s there: paintings, photographs, letter press, vintage patterns, and found objects. i’d also like to build some corner shelves so there’s room for some books and more vintage sewing objects. below, some desk stuff (black and white photo is of my sister a few weeks before she had baby C) and a lot of shanna’s work, which i love for it’s simplicity. she gave me one of her new decals and i can’t wait to find a place for it!

one of my favorite detailed paintings by our friend brian:

whit painted my vintage orange light black and surprised me by painting the inside a soft gold. (that gal is full of surprises lately.)

moved my *keep calm* print to the far wall because i wanted my samantha hahn painting directly over my table so i could enjoy it more. if you haven’t checked out her work, you’re missing out. (more on that painting later.)

also filled up this nifty old thing with old buttons: a close friend gave it to me when i was really ill before the holidays. neither of us know what its original purpose is, but we both know it’s rad.

i’m looking forward to june and having less school work so that i can start working on the yard and finishing up more upstairs projects. my sewing machines are feeling neglected!
