pleasure and procrastination

It’s been in the mid-80s all week, and I’m one of the few who LUV this weather; however, because Rochester isn’t known for sun, I feel a tremendous obligation to be outside for every second of it. This means that very little is getting done around here other than biking, drinking iced almond milk chai, lawn mowing, and more biking. I’ve developed an unhealthy addiction to lime seltzer, bought an outdoor lounge chair so I no longer have to sit in the dirt, and finished The Slap. I’m half-way through Snow, which I feel like I should be enjoying more than I am.

Yesterday I managed to open my comprehensive exam (#1) on my laptop, but after looking at it for 20 seconds, I decided I wasn’t in the space. Again.

C cut up all of the materials for my studio table last night, so I have high hopes for a workspace upstairs within the week. Until then, I’m guzzling seltzer while trying not to think about how the carbonation is wreaking havoc on my bone density.

In other news, I need a new bag to bike with, but I can’t decide if I want it to attach to me or attach to my bike. Since I ride a boy-bike, making something like this out of recycled leather could be fun:

I also think I solved my notebook troubles because this one is perfect; it combines my need for lines and black space:

This blog pretty much makes my day, every day.
