healing

i keep asking C: “if it hurts, does that mean it’s healing?”

moving slowly here. i’m getting better at typing w three fingers and C is getting better at brushing my teeth. i’ve never felt so useless. i’m learning that doing a little hurts a lot later, and that ice packs are my  new best friends. i’m also learning that i am the luckiest gal in the city to have amazing friends that visit everyday, are willing to do anything for me (yes, that includes every aspect of taking me to the bathroom when i need it), and even set up a calendar where i get every meal brought to our house from a different friend and even fed to me. amazing. i just had roasted kale, potatoes, beets, and eggs for breakfast. delish.

i’ve only melted down once (in the tub yesterday while C was attempting to shave my armpits) which quickly turned to lots of laughter at the ridiculousness of our new daily routines. these straws Shanna brought me make me smile all day because they mean I can lean over and drink on my own. I’m surrounded by lots of flowers and cards and carob treats. I just bought this book on tape to take up 8 hrs and 45 mins of my week this week because i still can’t hold a book or turn pages by myself.

it took me 27 minutes to write this post. time to rest.
