chevron love

Chevron stripes have been popping up all over my world lately and I can’t get enough of them. I love them best in black:

A few weeks ago, I decided it was time to design and knit myself something. I settled on a chevron pattern stitch in the Vogue Stitchionary mainly because I wanted a stitch pattern that was easy enough that I could work on it while chatting with friends or watching a movie.

In the quest to stretch myself, I decided to not knit this top in black, but attempt to go for a color I rarely wear, but always admire: blue. I’m not a blue-kinda person: I don’t actually think I own anything blue except blue jeans. But this color got me and I gave into it:

The yarn is Ella Rae Classic 100% wool in Deep Cove Blue: a deep blue with hints of soft greenish turquoise. I’m about two inches in but I expect to be knitting more over the next few days since kidney stone surgery has me tucked in at home this weekend. It’s sunny in western NY–hope you’re out enjoying it for me!
