all things that shimmer

i’ve grown a new addiction to all things that shimmer. gold is my new black.  i can’t get enough of it. my studio table is spread with bits and pieces of projects i’m working on for the holidays, all for our house. we’ll have a full tree this year for the first time since we moved in and i’m making little golden and silver ornaments and garlands.

this week has been a tough one: ended up in the hospital yesterday. they thought all the stomach pain was more kidney stones, but when they put me under and filled me up with dye, they couldn’t find a thing. back to square one. i’m distracting myself from the stomach pain by taking a little break from school and focusing on little projects at home.

i started this mood board the other night. most of what’s been tacked up there has been fall-oriented, and i’m feeling ready to move on to some holiday shimmer. most of the pictures are cut from various anthro catalogs and nylon. i love cutting up magazines. and glittery paper. and sparkly yarn. i could go on and on…here are a few snippets:

a lovely winter collar, some soft yarn and a brushed gold bell

I think you owe yourself a pair of gold glitter Tom’s. I bought a pair for a formal event in October, and I’ve been wearing them nearly every day since. I now understand the 5-yr-old girls who wear ruby Dorothy glitter shoes to Kindergarten daily.

Hope your stomach pains find a cause and a resolution soon.

I saw a barista wearing those gold Toms the other day: they are darling!
